Viola sat in a corner where two bookcases met. To her right was full of muggle poetry, the other side was, in the simplest of terms, magical poetry. Her nose was deep in the book, practically brushing the pages, as she attempted to block out reality. Two nights now she was unable to sleep. The nightmares of home were far too real the last night she felt the sweet embrace of slumber that now, as the sun rose and poured light into the library, she was only able to be somewhat coherent was to read and read and read.
She wasn’t exactly sure if the others in her dorm noticed. The other mornings she easily snuck back before the others woke up. Stealthiness isn’t really her strong suit, but there was no way to tell. The girls were all in their own world, dealing with their own pain to be distracted. The Aqua house was known for emotional intelligence, it only makes sense that the members had to face something that strained their emotional state to become familiar.
So, with the sun having made the sky an orange and golden hue, Viola sat in the library still deeply attracted to the words of Edgar Allan Poe.

It was many and many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea, that a maiden there lived whom you may know by the name of Annabel Lee; and this maiden she lived with no other thought, than to love and be loved by me.
Annabel closed her eyes trying to purge all the negative thoughts of her mind right now. Why couldn't people focus more on the good things that they had in their lives? Why couldn't they just be happy they didn't have a host of spirits following them at all times? The emotions of every single person that you walk by running though your head. Or she could just be having one of those days where she felt like God cheated her out of a normal life and that's why she was here. Looking for the book with the poem that her mother would read to her and would clear her head if she focused hard enough on the words. Still able to hear her mother's soft voice, and knowing that this was her favourite poem of all time, and the reason for her name.
Fingers ran over the books as she looked for it but it was no where to be seen. Typically, the one time she needs it she can't find it. She sighed and looked over to a corner where two bookcases met and there was Voila with the book. Annabel smile and walked over to her. "Hi Voila, mind if I join you? I only ask because you have to book I was looking for."

Her eyes skimmed the words on the page, empathising the stanzas differently as she reread each poem. Lack of sleep was beginning to catch up with her, the letters growing fuzzy.
Carefully, Viola turned the page while stifling a yawn. From childhood’s hour... The new presence went unnoticed as the poem closest to her heart. She mouthed the lines slowly, absorbing the theme of Alone. It was the sort of poem that just clicked and the patterns seemed to match to perfection. Viola found it to be the least appreciated of Poe’s work, however, she liked it that way. Made it seem as if it was made for her.
With a start, Viola shut the book and, with her finger acting as a bookmarker, she looked up. “Oh,” she exhaled the with light laugh. Nodding, she slipped her finger out and turned the book over. Having patted the book’s back cover, Viola stretched to hand it off to Annabel Lee. “Of course you may. Read out loud?”

"Thank you Volia!" Annabel said softly but still with a smile as she took the book, taking a seat away from the girl and trying to shut her out somewhat. Not to be rude she just wanted to focus on herself for once. Find a nice quiet place in her mind with this book and her own thoughts for a moment. Over the years Annabel had grown more and more thankful for the moments that she had time to herself and might be able to feel her own emotions for a little bit. It was odd yes because she found she understood other people's emotion better than her own but she was happy to have the time to try and understand them a little it.
But she was asked to read out loud and she could say no to that. "Alright I don't mind." And so her fingers flipped over the pages to the poem she had been looking for, the one her mother named her after and read to her everynight. Words that she knew off by heart but she still loved to read on page. Something about this poem just felt so right and made her so relaxed. Made her long for those evening at home all tucked into bed, with her bedroom window open and she
"I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea, But we loved with a love that was more than love— I and my Annabel Lee— With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven, Coveted her and me."

She nodded, smiling softly up at the girl. Watching as Annabel sat, Viola pulled her knees towards her chest and embraced them. “No problem.” Feeling indifferent, nonchalant, Viola figured that she probably was the best person for Annabel to be near, even if it wasn’t exactly how the morning in the library was planned for both girls. She rested her head on her knees and stifled a yawn.
Closing her eyes as the girl began to read, Viola allowed her sleep deprived imagination to take over, painting the words out on the blank canvas of her mind....
The blue of the ocean reflected grey, attempting to match the sky. Chilly was the air, and it foamed the waves crashing onto the shore as they removed the freshly pressed footprints. Above, high in the clouds, angels sprawled out in a still fit, envy turning them green. The sky shifted a hue darker, showing the darkness taking over the holiness of angels....
Viola, matching Annabel, mouthed the next stanza, “And this was the reason that, long ago/ In this kingdom by the sea/A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling/My beautiful Annabel Lee/So that her highborn kinsmen came/And bore her away from me/To shut her up in a sepulchre/In this kingdom by the sea.”
